Senior Director of Development hired at BWFH
DeGregorio is now responsible for cancer fundraising across Brigham and Women's Hospital and BWFH, as well as being charged to help integrate development efforts between BWFH and BWH.
"My job is to engage people who have the means and the desire to give," she explains. "That could mean making a gift to fund research that's going to change medicine at BWH, or it could mean helping us change the way we deliver patient care to the community at BWFH. I help donors make a difference for the patients we serve."
DeGregorio is excited to be part of the team behind the recent public launch of BWH/BWFH's $1 billion fundraising campaign—the largest such campaign in the institution's history. Themed "Life.Giving.Breakthroughs.", the campaign focuses on transforming the future of medicine with breakthroughs that save and restore lives.
Other upcoming goals for DeGregorio include building a strategic plan for philanthropy at BWFH, strengthening relationships with grateful patients who want to give back to the institution, and developing planned giving initiatives for BWFH's longtime supporters.
DeGregorio was attracted to working at BWFH because she believes in the importance of community hospitals and the impact that philanthropy can have in this setting. "The opportunity to build a philanthropy program here at BWFH that will integrate with our recently launched fundraising campaign, and with Brigham's existing program, is really very exciting."
While she stays very busy with her dual development roles at BWFH and BWH, DeGregorio does take some time out for fun and relaxation by hiking, boating, and fishing with her family, as well as taking advantage of all the city of Boston has to offer.
