New senior writer hired at BWFH
She describes her last role as interesting, but not fulfilling. "I wrote product descriptions for items sold on the website. There was always something new, but I rarely interacted with people," she says.
At BWFH, her job has her meeting a wide range of hospital staff, patients and members of the community. She says, "I’m away from my desk a lot, out and about talking with people and hearing their stories. I’m not the one changing lives, but I can be the one who spreads the word about the great work being done at the hospital."
Having never worked in the healthcare field, she’s learning new things every day. "I’ve always been a good writer. That’s the easy part. My challenge at BWFH is learning how the hospital works and how all the players come together to deliver care to the patients,"she says. She’s also new to much of the clinical terminology she’s encountering, but loves that she’s expanding her own knowledge base while focusing on the writing skills she’s honed over her career.
When not at work, she enjoys both downhill and cross-country skiing in winter, hiking in the spring and fall, and relaxing at the family camp at Lake Winnipesaukee in the summer.
