New Audiologist hired at BWFH
Marcy Chant, AuD
In her new position, Dr. Chant works in diagnostic and dispensing audiology. She is able to determine the type and degree of hearing loss in adults, as well as fit people with hearing aids and help people choose hearing assistive devices such as Bluetooth enabled devices and amplified telephones. The Audiology Clinic also has custom swim plugs for people with recurrent middle ear infections, musician and hunter earplugs, and can make custom-made earbuds for audiophiles or hard-to-fit ears.
Dr. Chant is excited to help get BWFH's Audiology Department running full steam, and working together with otolaryngologist Dr. Anthony Prince. "I'm looking forward to a collaborative relationship in providing referrals and sharing information with one another," she says, adding, "I’m happy to provide inpatient and outpatients care for all of the BWFH community."
Dr. Chant also hopes to educate BWFH employees about the Partners Plus health benefit for hearing assisted devices. "Not a lot of employees know this," she says, "but if you have Partners Plus insurance, you and your family members get a combined $1000 benefit for hearing aids. Each family member is eligible, so I want to do my part in spreading the word about this great benefit."
When not working, Dr. Chant enjoys going to the gym, looking after her two small children, and going out to the movies.
