The goal of the Faulkner21 program is to transfer 21 patients each week, or three patients per day, from BWH to BWFH where patients can be cared for at the same level of excellence, but for a much lower cost. The patients are transferred by Fallon Ambulance Service.

Our two hospitals have integrated physicians, training programs and diagnostic services, and we maintain a single medical records system for seamless access throughout the Brigham Health network,” says Cori Loescher, MM, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services at BWFH. “Through the Faulkner21 program we can truly bring world-class care to the community.”
Recently, the numbers have actually exceeded the goal of 21 patients. In fact, in the month of March the program achieved a record number with 37 transfers in one week and has reached almost four patients per day.
“It’s wonderful to see that the program continues to thrive,” says Loescher. “The patients that come to us from BWH receive the very best care here at BWFH and we’re able to keep their costs down.”
